U.S. singer Michael Jackson have embraced Islam during a ceremony in Los Angeles, according to the British tabloid The Sun, quoted by the website of Liberation.

The Sun says that the singer, currently on trial with the son of the king of Bahrain, reportedly converted to Islam after a ceremony in Los Angeles in the home of producer Steve Porcaro, with whom he had worked on the album Thriller .
"An imam of the local mosque came and Michael has made his Shahada, the declaration of faith of Muslims" writes the British daily.
The singer had a choice between two Muslim names: Mustafa and Mikaeel. It finally opted for one that was closest to his.
According to the newspaper, "they have talked about their beliefs and how they thought it had made soon after their conversion. Michael became interested in the idea."
