The reform of public broadcasting to members

Members begin Tuesday in the late afternoon consideration of the bill reforming the public broadcasting while the intersyndicale sector provides a "mobilization" of employees called a strike to 24 hours and to demonstrate in Paris.

Tuesday morning, the France Inter programs were disrupted because of this call to strike.

France Inter broadcast music in place of her usual morning slice of information. France Culture has also aired music to 07.00 but its programs were then insured.

Programs were provided France Info normally, giving special attention in their own titles to the strike.

On France 2, broadcast TV Morning "was also distributed normally, but the newspaper from 0700 was done in" conditions, "said the presenter, who has made the strike his first title.

The press, however, denounced Tuesday the majority this reform project, seeing it as a "creeping Berlusconisation" of French television and a "return to the ORTF", with control of political power on public broadcasting.

The bill has ceased to cause controversy since the announcement of the decision of President Nicolas Sarkozy to remove advertising at France Televisions last January.

In recent weeks he has undergone various refinements to the special parliamentary committee responsible for reviewing, which bodes a serious battle of amendments led by the left and the Modem to the Assembly.

Trade unions in France Televisions, but also professionals, producers, writers, authors, worried today funding of public group. Even if the government guarantees the 450 million annual shortfall resulting from the elimination of advertising in the evening from 5 January 2009.

"The state has taken a clear commitment is 3 billion euros for public broadcasting for three years, including 450 million euros in compensation for advertising abolished in 2009, 2010, 2011, although happens ", reiterated Tuesday on the LCI Culture Minister Christine Albanel.

They also fear a plan for parking "voluntary" 900 employees mentioned by the head of France Televisions Patrick de Carolis, and would not be replaced. "People who retire, there are many that will not change", has repeated Monday Frédéric Lefebvre, a spokesman for the UMP.

Unions have called a rally at the foot of the Eiffel Tower from midday before winning the National Assembly. "We are angry because the damage will be huge" for employment and quality of programs, said Carole Little, SNJ delegate of France Televisions.

"The mobilization looks very strong, especially in the regional offices of France 3," added Jean-François Tealdi, on behalf of the SNJ-CGT, insisting on "uncertainties" affecting the financing of the group.

In the chamber, the left and the modem should lead the battle of the amendments while the text grind teeth into the ranks of the majority, both the UMP and New Center.

The bill being considered urgently, the vote will occur on December 9 in the National Assembly, before moving to the Senate the next day.
